Give instructors practical tools for everyday teaching.

Instructors can manage their assigned courses, organize content, schedule classes, create meeting links, track attendance, manage assignments, and communicate with students without relying on disconnected tools.

Give students one clear place to learn.

Students can access their courses, materials, live classes, assignments, announcements, and other learning activities across web and mobile from one consistent environment.

See what is happening across your institution.

Administrators can manage programs, courses, instructors, and students while using Slatebod Oversight to identify areas that may require attention, including instructor assignment, learning materials, attendance, course activity, and teaching execution.

The Institutional Resource Library gives the institution a central place for approved teaching materials. Administrators manage institutional resources while instructors access materials relevant to the courses they teach and incorporate them into their own course environment.

Keep learning connected across tools and devices.

Slatebod supports native live classes and allows institutions to use external meeting platforms where preferred. Students and instructors can access the learning environment across web and mobile, with course materials and lectures available offline once downloaded — keeping course resources, sessions, communication, and activities connected to the relevant class.

The institution remains the custodian of institutional content.

The instructor remains responsible for the learning experience.

Questions about Slatebod LMS

What is Slatebod LMS?

Slatebod LMS is the learning management system in the Slatebod ecosystem. An institution runs its programs, courses, instructors and students in it. Students find everything for each course in one place.

Can students learn without an internet connection?

Yes, for lectures and course files. Students save them to their phone or laptop while they have a connection, then open them with none. A download that stops halfway picks up where it stopped.

Can instructors run live classes?

Yes. Instructors schedule live classes in Slatebod and students join from the course. Attendance is recorded for each class. Institutions that prefer an external meeting platform can use it.

How do administrators see what is happening in each class?

Slatebod Oversight lists the classes that need follow-up, such as a class with no instructor, no learning materials or no attendance recorded. Nobody has to open every course to find them.

Who owns the courses and materials?

The institution. It keeps its students, courses, materials and data. Its Institutional Resource Library holds approved teaching materials that instructors use in their own courses.
